Maruti S-Cross Facelift price and Facility 


The updated Maruti Suzuki S Cross 2017 will arrive in the Indian market next year within an estimated price range of Rs 7 lakh – Rs 12 lakh.



November 13, 2016 – Suzuki, the Japanese automaker has showcased the new Suzuki S-Cross 2017 (Known as Maruti S Cross 2017 in India) at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show. The vehicle is already on sale in the UK market. If media reports are to be believed, the crossover will hit the Indian shores in the second half of 2017. In UK, the crossover has been made available in three variants – SZ4, SZ-T and SZ5. The SZ-T model is specifically designed for the fleet buyers, although it will be available for retail customers as well. Talking about India-spec model, the Maruti S Cross 2017 facelift will see comprehensive cosmetic updates along with a new petrol powertrain and automatic gearbox. The diesel version will continue to come with the 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre DDiS engines.

Suzuki offers two ‘Boosterjet’ petrol engines with the crossover’s European-spec model – a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo and a 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder turbo. While the smaller capacity mill pushes out power worth 112bhp against 170Nm, the 1.4-litre Boosterjet delivers 140bhp and 220Nm. Transmission options on offer are – a 6-speed manual & an automatic. The European model also gets all-wheel drive system – ALLGRIP. The diesel model, however, continues to feature the 1.6-litre DDiS motor that’s good for 120bhp and 320Nm of torque.



On the flip side, the India-bound model is likely to have an all-new M15 1.5-litre petrol mill that generates a maximum power of 100bhp at 5900rpm and 133Nm of torque at 4100rpm. The diesel powertrains – 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre multijet units – could be retained in the facelift model as well. While the former develops 89bhp and 200Nm of torque, the later offers 118bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. Or the company has an option to also fit the 1.0-litre BoosterJet mill that will make its debut with the Baleno RS later this year.

While the overall design of the 2017 S Cross cabin remains unchanged, it receives major updates inside the cabin. The car gets a revised instrument cluster with MID (multi information display), newly designed soft-touch dashboard pad, new seat upholstery and framing highlights for the centre panel. There is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Mirrorlink, and a double sliding panoramic glass sunroof. The S-Cross SZ5 model offers a segment leading luggage space of 560-liters.
